Program Details

Up to $10,000

The Capital Regional District offers rebates to businesses that replace water-wasting once-through cooling (OTC) systems with water-efficient alternatives. A CRD bylaw will ban OTC systems by July 1, 2028 — act now to take advantage of available funding.

  • Available to commercial accounts connected to the Greater Victoria drinking water supply
  • Rebate deadline: apply before July 1, 2026
  • Eligible replacements include air-cooled condensers, closed-loop systems, split systems, and remote condensers
  • Rebate is the lesser of: $0.20/BTU/hr (condensers), $0.40/BTU/hr (ice machines), $5/m³ annual water usage, or $10,000
