Eligibility & Requirements
FortisBC offers significant rebates for installing dual fuel rooftop units (RTUs) that combine an electric heat pump with a gas-fired burner. Available for both new construction and existing commercial or industrial buildings.
- Standard efficiency dual fuel RTU: 30% of total project cost, up to $150,000 per premise
- Condensing efficiency dual fuel RTU: 30% of total project cost, up to $225,000 per premise
- Must be a FortisBC gas customer (any rate class except Rate 1)
- Must replace a gas heating system that serves as the building's primary space heating (existing buildings)
- Installation must be done by a contractor licensed with Technical Safety BC
- Apply within 365 days of the product purchase date shown on the invoice
